# QuranIsland website sources and notices

The website previews the offline Mac reader. It does not connect a Quran.com account or use Quran Foundation's authenticated APIs.

## Quran text and font

The complete Arabic ayahs in `content/ayahs.json` are copied verbatim from the app's bundled King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex Unicode Hafs V3 corpus. The matching, unmodified `assets/kfgqpc_hafs_v30.ttf` retains its custom EULA in [KFGQPC-Hafs-LICENSE.txt](assets/KFGQPC-Hafs-LICENSE.txt). It is not an OFL font. ## Translation excerpts

The three short English excerpts are attributed to **Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran**. They are excerpts, not full translations. Each record links to the full translation and context on Quran.com. No ownership, affiliation, or general redistribution license is claimed for this translation. Reassess permissions before expanding the excerpts.

## Interface fonts

The website self-hosts unmodified Literata and Commissioner variable fonts from the Google Fonts repository, under SIL Open Font License 1.1. Each retains its copyright and full `OFL.txt` beside the font in `assets/fonts/`. The selected-font manifest retains source URLs, upstream references and file/license hashes. These interface fonts never replace the matching Quran font.

## Original Mushaf pages

`assets/mushaf/page-283.svg`, `page-455.svg` and `page-529.svg` are byte-identical pages from the [quran-ws/quran-svg](https://github.com/quran-ws/quran-svg) release bundled by the app, with page artwork from the King Fahd Complex and annotations under CC BY 4.0. Their source, commit and hashes remain in `assets/mushaf/manifest.json`, with the original [notice](assets/mushaf/Quran-SVG-NOTICE.md) and [licence](assets/mushaf/Quran-SVG-LICENSE.txt). These are illustrative samples, not a complete web Mushaf. Light-on-dark presentation and selected-ayah highlighting are separate live layers; the source vectors are unchanged.

## Display and button artwork

Generated display plates, wallpaper and Space/Mac-download button artwork illustrate the application. They are not native app captures or official Apple product photographs. Arabic, translation excerpts and controls remain live HTML; original Mushaf pages remain the publisher's vectors. No generated Quran text is used. The Apple logo identifies the Mac download; it is not an App Store badge or a claim of Apple endorsement. Original generation records remain in the source repository; only artwork used by this page is exported.

App code is [MIT licensed](LICENSE.txt). Quran text, excerpts, fonts and page artwork retain their separate terms. Using sources does not establish endorsement by KFGQPC, Quran.ws, Itqan, Quran.com or Quran Foundation. No institutional logo or partner badge is used.
